Rainbow Bridge

What is the Rainbow Bridge?
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Misty
Misty was the cat of one of our members that he had for almost 10 years.
Misty was an "owner surrender" that was adopted from another animal shelter and really re-awakened his love of cats.

One of the best things about Misty was her voice that sounded like she was always hoarse, when sound came out at all.
Misty was found to have Squamous-Cell Carcinoma, a very aggressive form of cancer in her mouth that was so advanced that the only thing treating it would have accomplished was making her last days on earth as miserable as humanly possible.

Misty left this world on August 10, 2006 and is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for those who loved her-

I will see you again, Misty.

Brownie
Brownie was a loveable feral kitty. He was left to fend for himself along with 16 other feline Leukemia kitties. His rescue took longer than the rest because he was so unsure of what was happening, all his buddies were gone and he was alone. A caring rescurer stayed with him everyday and made friends with him until one day after about two months Brownie was no longer out in the elements. He was taken for veterinary treatment, neutered and tested along with his rabies shot. Brownie was evaluated and found he also was Leukemia positive. He lived with other loving Leukemia kitties until he developed a brain tumor and past away about two months later. Brownie was a loving cat who if had been kept inside would have lived a long and happy life. Brownie will be missed by both his loving rescurer and caretaker.
